A cross by the church and cemetery at Gavarnie.
Sharing a few more selected photos from my 5 days in Lourdes and half-day trips we made in the vicinity. Incidentally the Tour de France which started on Saturday is going through the same area of Southwest France until Thursday. It actually started in Spain, through Bilbao, and yesterday they ended in San Sebastian, and between today and Thursday they will cycle through two places we just visited, St Jean de Luz and Cauterets. So the quiet and empty streets we experienced last week, will be buzzing with thousands of fans cheering the 179 cyclists to try to win a stage of the tour, a historic accomplishment for any cyclist. Enjoy these photos with no particular order.

Off to the races as Gavarnie donkeys take off.
