Sometime in the future, we will all look back at 2020 and relive all the stories we hear of coronavirus, how many people we knew who got infected, the numbers, the statistics and so much more. We hear that various groups are working on a vaccine that will hopefully get rid of this curse. The Maltese government just announced that over 330,000 vaccines have been ordered from Oxford, England, and will be given to the most vulnerable, while another 200,000 will be available for the rest of the population. The statistics are mind-boggling. Here are some countries and how many cases they have with the number of deaths they experienced up to this day, September 1, 2020:
USA - 6,211,796 cases, 187,736 deaths;
Brazil – 3,910,901 cases, 121,515 deaths;
India – 3,694,878 cases, 65,469 deaths;
Russia – 995,319 cases, 17,176 deaths;
United Kingdom – 335,873 cases, 41,501 deaths;
China – 85,058 cases, 4,634 deaths;
Malta – 1,883 cases, 12 deaths;
Italy - 269,214 cases, 35,483
deaths;
Spain – 462,858 cases, 29,094 deaths;
France – 281,025 cases, 30,635 deaths;
Germany – 244,802 cases, 9,376 deaths.
It’s good to remember the three W’s of protection from the coronavirus:
Watch your space - Wear your mask - Wash your hands
