On National Siblings Day, celebrated April 10, plenty of brothers and sisters shared photos of their siblings. While some were fun, and others adorable, there were a few that were truly inspirational. This was the case with the Okpaleke siblings. Dr. Chinyere Okpaleke shared a photo with five of her siblings, all donning their uniforms. Going by the name of Dr. Chi, she is pictured with four sisters and one brother. From left to right: Okway Okpaleke, M.D., Chinelo Okpaleke, P.A., Nkiru Osefo, M.D., Ifeoma Okpaleke, N.P., Queenate Okpaleke, N.P. and Chinyere Okpaleke, M.D. Incredibly, these are not all of the doctors in the Okpaleke family. Another sibling, Lillian Okpaleke, M.D., isn’t in the picture, and the siblings’ parents are doctors, too. Their father, Andrew Okpaleke, M.D., practiced medicine for 30 years before retiring, and his wife, Celina Okpaleke, P.A., has been practicing for over 20 years, all while raising seven children. The parents have obviously instilled in their children a desire to care for others, as well as the importance of self-sacrifice. Dr. Chinyere Okpaleke said, “We are Nigerian, so we have that cultural background of my parents being immigrants and basically sacrificing coming to the USA for a better life. I know our parents and ancestors are beyond proud! We are exactly what their sacrifices were meant for!” While the entire family is devoted to their vocation, their faith has a huge part to play. Dr Chi concludes by saying “Serving like Christ and philanthropy are the reasons our heart smiles and the reasons why our passion glows.”
