Lenten suggestions from Pope Francis

Pope Francis preaching by example....going to confession.
These are some Lenten suggestions given to us by Pope Francis:
-          Smile and show that you are a happy Christian.
-          Use more frequently the word ‘Thanks.’
-          Remind those around you how much you love them.
-          Welcome those you meet with joy not with a frown.
-          Listen to the stories of others with love not with judgement.
-          Stop and help – be aware of those who may need your help.
-          Recognize the talents and successes of others.
-          Help someone who needs to take a rest.
-          Correct with love not with arrogance.
-          Use gentleness in your words and actions.
-          Clean up your house from accumulated junk.
-          Call or visit your parents often.
-          Fast from negative talk and say nice things about others.
-          Fast from arguing and be grateful of the gifts God gave you.
-          Fats from anger and replenish yourself with gentleness and patience.
-          Fast from pessimism and feast on optimism towards others.
-          Fast from anxiety and personal problems and trust God more who know what you need.
-          Fast from complaining and fill yourself with the simple things in life.
-          Fast from tension and pray a little more.
-          Fast from hatred and sadness and fill your heart with joy.
-          Fast from egoism and choose to be of some help to those around you.
-          Fast from talking unnecessarily and instead fill yourself with silence, so that you can hear God talking to you. Remember that it’s in silence that you can be aware of the needs of others.
