Incision of the Crucifixion from the mid-1770s
Plenty of exhibitions are held over the next few days in Malta as various craftsmen showcase their statues, churches and other displays related to Holy Week. These are just a few that I saw, some modern in approach, others more traditional, besides a setting for a concert held in the local parish church of Naxxar. The last one is one of the Stations of the Cross, also in the parish of Naxxar, a set of 14 paintings displayed with an elaborate gilded frame, where people pray the Stations during the Lenten season, often walking from the 1st station all the way to the 14th.
