I just visited an astounding exhibition with a Spanish touch held in the tiny village of Mqabba, Malta. Some enthusiasts in love with the Spanish culture have been adding since 2007 more statues to a collection which is now a marvel to behold. These are statues that are usually part of many processions held in Seville, Malaga, Andalusia and other cities on Good Friday. They were displayed in two large rooms and four of the statuettes can be seen and admired here in this post. They show various scenes from the Passion of Christ, which we are commemorating today. Many of the clothing involved are done by hands with plenty of gold and silver threading and other jewels, customary of Spanish clothing. (click on each photo to enlarge)
