More human stories are coming out of the Olympic Games being held in Tokyo. The gold medal for Golf was won by the American Xander Schauffele. As soon as he sunk the last ball on the 18th green, he was embraced by his tearful father Stefan. That medal was eventually shared with Stefan as 40 years earlier, he was training for the Decathlon in Germany, when his car was hit by a drunk driver when he was on his way for a training session. He suffered multiple injuries, including the loss of sight in his left eye. He had dedicated a big chunk of his life in trying to win a medal in the tough Decathlon, but lost the opportunity to participate. Now his son Xander was able to win the gold, and shares it proudly with his swing coach and mentor. This gold medal goes for father and son, a professional golfer and a potential decathlete.
