I share with you a selection from an incredible concert that was held in my Cathedral parish of St Francis de Sales in Baker City, Oregon in 2012. Even though this is a Christmas selection, called Carolfest, you can admire the dexterity and incredible technique that Phyllis Tincher shows in handling over 40 handbells, some of them at the same time. She had Sean Rogers accompanying her on the piano, and the whole recital took over an hour with Christmas selections during the festive season. But they also go on concert in various other places, mostly churches, where I’ve seen them collaborating together, issuing also various Compact Discs, which of course I have in my collection. I was the one organizing this particular concert, and I was listening and taking photos of the occasion, which made me believe that Phyllis must have set up a hidden camera to record the concert, as you can see from this selection, with the beautifully restored sanctuary in the background. Enjoy this selection as you admire the incredible technique she uses as she handles the handbells, even re-placing them in their appropriate place on the felt-covered table.
