In my series of flash-backs from previous parishes, today I go back to my last parish of St. Francis of Assisi, Bend, Oregon. One of my decorators came up with the idea of creating a tomb right in front of the altar and it was quite an impressive display as you can all see for yourselves by this photo. The empty tomb is also highlighted by the piece of cloth left inside the tomb, to show that Jesus is really risen. The two angels add to this dramatic moment, and two more angels are next to the tabernacle, placed there all year round. ‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? – He is not here – He is risen!’
