These are 4 scenes from yesterday's Good Friday procession in the town of Naxxar. Statues representing scenes from the passion and death of Jesus were carried through the streets of the town. Various Biblical characters dressed in costumes also took part in the solemn procession, which was held in another 15 parishes in Malta and our sister island, Gozo. On Sunday another procession will be held in most of these parishes, a festive one this time, with the statue of the Risen Christ.
