Two brothers had farms adjacent to each
other, and worked their fields daily with plenty of animals pasturing while
planting many vegetables for their family and friends. Unfortunately one day
they had a heated argument and did not speak for several weeks. One of the
brothers dug a pit between his farm and his brother’s, so that he could not
cross over to his property. The other one brought in a carpenter and asked him
to build a wooden wall around his property. After a few days, no wall was built
and instead the brothers noticed a bridge being built from one side to the
other side over the pit. So the brothers approached the bridge, each one from
his side, and met in the center of the bridge, gave a big hug to each other,
and cried tears of joy that the carpenter was instrumental to bring healing and
reconciliation. Let us learn from this story to build more bridges, instead of
divisions in our lives.
