Two years ago I was able to visit an exhibition of
various crucifixes set up in private
home in Għaxaq, Malta. There must have been at least 200 different crucifixes
hanging on walls or standing on appropriate stands. Some were made of wood,
others of metal, ceramic, ivory, yet others of mother-of-pearl. The whole
display offers a very devout meditation on the crucifixion and the passion of
Christ. These 4 photos show only a section of this display, but it can help you as a meditation on the suffering of Jesus on the cross.
