Over the next two weeks, I will share a selection of photos I've been taking while visiting various parishes as they celebrate their respective village festivities in honor of their titular saint. We call these festivities festa in Maltese, and today I start with a collection of street decorations which different parishes use to decorate their streets with colorful banners, statues and other inventive creations. There is a lot of patience, work and sacrifice to create these banners - hours of hard work by volunteers and die-hard parishioners, mostly young men and women, who help especially with the sewing and stitching. The photos speak for themselves - so just enjoy them and come back daily for more.
